scientists in National Science Foundation's added nitrogen to the soil prompts northern hard wood forests to get more heat trapping carbon dioxide. with more nitrogen in the environment forests could grow carbon sinks and help mitigate climate change. the scientists decided to do there planned and the trees started to grow.
